From 9 to 13 June 2026, the Vietnam Aviation Academy (VAA) organized a study visit to the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA) for outstanding participants from the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV).

The study visit served as the concluding activity of the 11 training courses delivered under the “Key Personnel Training Programme in Compliance with ICAO Competency Requirements” implemented by VAA. The delegation consisted of selected high-performing participants representing ACV’s key personnel, who were chosen based on their achievements throughout the programme.

During their time in Hong Kong, the delegation had the opportunity to gain first-hand insights into the management and operational model of the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) ecosystem, one of the leading aviation hubs in the region. The programme was designed to bridge classroom learning with real-world airport operations while exposing participants to emerging trends and innovative solutions in modern airport management.

One of the highlights of the programme was the exploration of initiatives aimed at enhancing passenger experience and optimizing airport operations. Participants were introduced to Flight Token technology, a biometric identification system that streamlines passenger processing and boarding procedures, contributing to both operational efficiency and a smoother passenger journey. The delegation also examined the multimodal transport connectivity model through the SkyPier and SkyBridge systems, gaining valuable insights into how air transport can be seamlessly integrated with other modes of transportation to create a more connected travel experience.

Beyond site visits and operational observations, the programme provided an excellent platform for professional development and international knowledge exchange. Participants engaged with industry experts, discussed current trends in airport management, and explored best practices in aviation workforce development aligned with international standards.

Conducted in a professional and collaborative environment, the programme marked the successful completion of a meaningful learning journey. The knowledge and practical insights gained are expected to contribute not only to the professional development of ACV personnel but also to the adoption of international best practices in airport management and operations across Vietnam.

Awarding certificates to ACV personnel

Through practice-oriented training programmes and international partnerships, the Vietnam Aviation Academy continues to strengthen its role as a bridge between education, industry, and global aviation organizations, contributing to the development of a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting the sustainable growth and international integration of Vietnam’s aviation sector.
